Why Weave Stream
Weave Stream is a free PubMed literature-monitoring tool for neuroscientists that turns your research intent into a structured, MeSH-aware query and delivers a ranked, explainable stream of new and relevant papers.
Relevant by design
An intelligent engine expands your query and groups papers by your research focus, so you never rebuild a search or miss a critical synonym.
Updated in real time
When relevant neuroscience work is published, it shows up in your stream right away.
Built for scientific workflow
Whether you're preparing for a journal club or writing a manuscript, Weave Stream surfaces a focused, ready-to-review set of papers.
The whole workflow, start to finish.
See how Weave Stream works, from creating your first stream to setting daily alerts.
Start today
Open Weave Stream to a clean, date-sorted feed of the latest neuroscience articles. When you're ready to track, click "Create Stream."

Create your stream
Name your stream and add the keywords you care about: inclusion, exclusion, and nice-to-have terms.

Specify your angle
The same keywords can surface different articles depending on your perspective. Specify your angle to steer how your keywords expand into the query.

Edit your stream and query
Your new stream now tracks PubMed for your topic of interest. In the side panel, you can see the expanded MeSH + synonym query behind it. Edit the query anytime to fine-tune what your stream surfaces.

Create a collection
Define a named set to organize what you find: "To read," "Methods," or whatever fits your workflow.

Add or remove collected articles
Add articles to collections, remove them, or create a new collection — all without leaving the card.

Set up notifications
Decide whether to be notified for each new article in your stream.

Plus everything you’d expect

Seamless PubMed
Access real PubMed data and boolean queries, straight from the source.
Accelerate your stream
Add your own PubMed API key to pull results faster and at higher volume. Entirely optional.

Frequently asked questions
How Weave Stream works day to day, and where it fits alongside the tools you already use.
How is Weave Stream different from a PubMed email alert or RSS feed?
A raw PubMed alert fires on a saved search string and returns everything that matches, noise included. Weave Stream builds a structured, MeSH-aware query from your intent, expands your terms in a bounded and explainable way, and ranks what comes back by relevance rather than just listing it by date.
Is Weave Stream free?
Yes. You can build streams, organize collections, and get alerts on new research at no cost, with no credit card required.
Is it only for neuroscience?
Weave Stream is built and tuned for neuroscientists, so the vocabulary handling and relevance are optimized for that field. It draws from PubMed, so adjacent biomedical topics are reachable, but neuroscience is where it performs best.
How does Weave Stream know what's relevant to me?
You give it keywords to include, terms to exclude, and publication types. It normalizes those seeds to MeSH and controlled vocabularies, compiles an optimized PubMed query, then scores results so the most relevant work surfaces first, with a plain explanation of why each item appeared.
Can I filter out topics I'm not interested in?
Yes. Exclude keywords let you strip out the predictable noise, such as a common term that keeps pulling in an unrelated subfield, so your stream stays focused on what you actually care about.
How often does my stream update?
Streams refresh as new research lands in PubMed, and you can set alerts so new matches come to you rather than you checking manually.
Designed for neuroscientists.
Stay on top of the literature without manual searching, scattered notes, or fragmented tools.
